CHAPTER 190.

An act to make valid certain Records therein nalcmed.

WHmERAS, a certain Elijah Moore, now of the State of P,,amte.
Ohio, died about the year eighteen hundred and twelve,
while residing in the Town of Alexandria, District of Co-
lumbia, convey to a certain Richard Rock, of said place, n
negro girl by the name of Milly Jinkins, a nativc of the
State of Maryland, by a regular bill of sale; which instru-
ment expressly stated that said negro was to serve said
Rock for the term of ten years, and then to be free; AND
WllEREAs, said Rock has furnished a certificate setting
forth the above facts, under oath, with the seal of the Cor-
poration of said Town afxel, the original instrument be-
ing lost; AND wnVRFas, the said Elijah Moore did execute,
on the sixth day of December, eighteen hundred and thirty,
in the State of Ohio, a'*ed of manumission, freeing said
negro, which instrument was signed in the presence of two
subscribing witnesses-Therefore,

That the said deed of manumission and certificate be ad- irinvd.
mitted to record as valid in the Court of Anne Artindcl
county, and that the said Milly Jinkins shall enjoy all the
privileges of a free person of colour in this State; Provided,
that nothing herein contained shall be so construed or ta-
ken as to interfere with any right of said Moore to said ne-
gro, or the right of any person or persons lawfully claiming
under him.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly qf .Mllaryland,  ,,, i,
That the Commissioners of Insolvent Debtors for the City ,,ti,.,,
and County of Baltimore, he, and they are hereby author-
ized and empowered to grant to William S. Jenkins of the
City of Baltimore, the benefit of the several acts of Assem-
bly passed for the relief of insolvent debtors; Provided, the P,.
said William S. Jenkins shall, in all respects, (except that
of proving residence) comply with the requisitions of said
acts of Assembly, and that he --misfv said Commissionrs
