Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General As.sembly ot Alaryland, Divorce.
Tbt Catharine Teninison, of the city of Baltimore, be, and she
is hereby I;Pvrcerl froth bed, board and mutual cohabitation,
witlh her I udhand Joseph 13. Tennison.                     Authorif
2. And be it enacted, *h:'t all the right and title which the ahnulled.
nainl Joseph B. Telmison, by virtue of his marriage with the uaid
Cah-arine ennisoni, may become entitled to in any way or
nmunncr whatever, iie, and the same is hereoy annulled and made
void; and that the said Cathdrime Tennison, me, kind she is here.
by declared capable to have, hold, take, receive, sue for and re-
cover bi compromise, suit or suits in Ltiv or equity, all such
property in as full and ample a manner as it' she were a feme
SoWe, anl had never been married; and to hold, use and enjoy
th sanme for her own use and benefit; and the same to dispose
of accodling to her will and pleasure, without the molestation,
inte, fvrence, hiattrance or consent of her snid husband, or of
nyv per!,ont or persons claim ing by, fron) or under her said hus-
ban,!, in the .same manner she could or might have done were
she a fenle sole.
5. Andbe it enacted, That the said Catharine Tennison, be, Guardianshli
anti she is here.v declared to be entitled to the custody anti
gumrdianship of the persou of her son Oli er Tennison, with.
out the muohsstatiom, let, h'ndvance, interference or consent of

4. Andbe it enacted, That the said Joseph B. Tennison shall Liabilityad
not hu. liable for an  iebts to be hereafter contracted by the.

An act for the relief of Negro Caroline, of Caroline county.
WrtP As, it is represented to this general assembl , by the Preamble,
meninrial of Joseph Orrell, of said county, that several years
ago, a certain free negro g rl named Caroline, was by the or-
ph ins court of Caroline coutity bound to him, to serve until she
arrived :,t eighteen years of age; that about two years ago, (not
needing her in his fatily) he placed her to live with a certain
Robert Ross of said county, for a limited time; that while she
was living with the said Ross, she attempted to burn his dw.-
ling house; that she was indicted and com'victed of said crime
by Caroline county court, at Alarch term last, and sentenced to
pay a fine of one dollar and thirty days imprisonment, and to
continue in prison until said fine and costs of lruiccution wc '
