An act to confirm the proceedings of certain cominissionera therein mentionea.
Passed Dee.  WHtREAS,an act was pa.sed by the General Assembly of Mary-
.16, 1823.
P-amble,    land at'the December session'eighteen hundred and twenty two, en-
titled.'an act to appoint -commissioners for the purpose of dividing
Dorchester county into six separate election districts.  And zvhereas,
the said commissioners hre'directed by the said act to meet -it the
place of holding the county court of eaid county, for the purpose of
performing the duties under'the said -act, on the first Monday of
March next ensuing the passage of said act. -And wlhereav, the said
commissioners did not receive the said act until April, and were
thetlhy'prevented from the performance of the dutit-s'assigned them
at the'time prescribed by the said act: Therefore,

lp:ipne.    2. Andbe it enacted, 1hat the rent and other expenses accruing
upon the removal of said office, shall be ,aid ,lnd defrayed by the
levy court of said county, olit of any unappropriated fuids, or by
a levy upon the taxable property of the county.

import slayc.  Spc. I . Be it enacted b! the General Ayst-mbl9 of Maryland, That
Elizabeth Ann Upshur Teack;e, of Somerstt county, be, and she
is hereby authoried at any time after the passage of this act, to re-
move and bring into this state a certain negro slave named Moses,
aged about fiftecn years; and that the removal of the said slave to
this state shall not in any manner entitle him to his freedom; J'rovi-
ded, that the said slave when removed agreeably to the provisions
of this act, shall be register ed among the tecords of Somerset coun-
ty court, within three months after his removal.
11eStrictiolk.  2. And e it enacted, That nothing in this act contained, shall be
construed to authorise a disposition of the sa-d slave, except in case
of disposition by last will and testament, and dispositions by law
for bona fide debts or consequent upon intestacy, in les than three
years after the passage of this act.
