Import slave.  Be it enacted by the General 1Asembly of hfaryland, That Wil-
liam F. Rennoe, of Charles county, be, and he is hereby authorised
and empowered to bring into this state a negro boy named Weedon,
aged about twelve years, and to hold the said negro as a slave, any
law to the contrary notwithstanding: Provided, tht said William F.
Hennoe shall, within thirty days after the removal of the said negro
Provisos    into this state, have him registered in the-records of Charles county
Prvios   cou rt; .ddprovided, that nothing herein contained shall.be construe !
to authorise the sale of the aforesaid negro slave within five years
from the period of bringing in the same.

4a18   c    . An act for the relh:f of Hyland A. Pcnington, of Cecilcounty.
4, 1823.
Import slave.   Be it enacted by the General As;cmbly of  alaf!nd, That Hv-
land B. Penington, be, and he is hereby authorised and empowerd
to bring into this state, from the state of Delaware, a negro man
named Jeremiah, and him to retain in his service during the term as
specified by the last will and testament of Ann Rothwell,latt- of New
Proviso.  Castle, state of Delaware, deceased: Provided, the said lByland B.
Penington shall, within four months after the said negro shall have
been removed as aforesaid, cause him to be registered on the records
of Cecil county court.

, 18~3..      An act for the relief of Adclaide V. Lowe, of Frcdcrick county.
Preamble.     .W4UE!tEAs articles of separation have 'heretofore been agreed
upon between Bradley S. A. Lowe and Adelaide V. Lowe,
his' wife, which have been sanctioned and approved of by the
family and friends of the said Adelaide; And-whereas the said 13rad-
Iy and Adelaide-are respectively desirous that a law shall pass, more
fully to carry into effect the agreement so as aforesaid entered into
by them; therefore,
flusband's  Section 1. Be it enacted by the General lssembly of ilaryland, That
interest an- Bradley S. A. Lowe, the husband of Adelaide V. Lowe, of Frederick
nulled,     county, shall, from the passage of this act, be, and he is hereby al-
together deprived of all and every interest, authority, power and con-.
troul, in, over, and to the person or property of the said Adelaide
V. Lowe, as fully and entirely as if she had never been married, and
that all such interest, authority, power and controul shall from hence-
forth utterly cease and determine.
Legal        2. And b it enacted, That the said Adelaide V. Lowe shall be, and-
bility.     she is hereby declared capable to have, hold, take, receive, sue for and
recover by compromise, suit or suits in law or equity,property of any
kind whether real, personal, or mixed, in as full and ample a man-
ner as if she was afcmesole, and to hold, use and enjoy the same for
her own use and benefit, and the same to dispose of according to her
will and pleasure, without the let, hindrance, molestation interference
or consent of her said husband, in as full and ample a manner as if
she werefjeme sole, and may, in her own name, sue and be sued at
law and in equity, in the same manner as if she were afjenrs ole.
Guardian-  3. Alnd be it linacted, That the said Adelaide V. Lowe shall have
slhip.     the cat e, custody, guardianship and controul of Ent ch Lewis Lowe,
the infant son of the'Said Bradley S. A. Lowe and Adelaide V.
