Be it enacted by the General Assembly of 3faryland That every
stockholder in said company shall be entitled-to one vote for every
share he shall hold in the capital stock of said company, under eight
.shares, .and for every two shares he shall hold over eight, he shall
also be entitled to one vote.
CHAPTER 95.
An act to release the right ofthe state to a part of a tract of landthere.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of 11taryland, That all the
-right and title of this state to a part. of a tract of land called Cub
Hill, in Baltimore county, containing three acres, be, and the same is
hereby relinquished, and vested in Margi'ret Cash, widow of Daniel
Cash, deceased, late of Baltimore county: Provided, that nothing
herein contained shall operate to the prejudice of any person or per-
sons, who shall heretofore have acquired a title to said property.

Section 1. Be it etnacted byt the General .Assembly of Mariland, That 27, 1823.
the register of the land office of the Western Shore, for the state of Patent.
Maryland, be, and he is hereby directed and empowered, to issue a
patent for a lot of ground, designated by lot number three thousand
six hundred and fifty-eight, lying and being in Allegany county, in
the state aforesaid, in the name of, and for the use and benefit of
William Workman, of said county.    .
2. And be it enacted, That the said patent, issued as aforesaid, Confirmed,
shall enure co the benefit of the said William Workman, in as full and
ample a manner as if it had been issued to Andrew Workman, his
father, in the life time of the said Andrew, who purchased the same
of the state of Maryland aforesaid, made full and satisfactory pay-
nent for the same, and died before said patent was issued; any law to
the contrary notwithstanding: Provided, that nothiing herein contain-
ed shall operate to impair or divest any right, tide, or interest, which
the heirs at law of the said Andrew Workman, or any other person
or persons, may have or claim in and to the said lot of land.

An act for the benefit of Alexander Keech, of Prince Georke's county. 4, 1823.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That at any Import slave.
time after the passage of this act, Alexander Keech, of Prince
George's county, in said state, be, and he is hereby authorised to bring
into this state, and to retain as a slave, a certain negro man named
Jim, by him purchased in the state of Virginia, any law to the con-
trary notwithstanding; Provided nevertheless, that nothing in this act. Provisos.
contained, shall be construed to authorize a disposition of said slave,
except in case of disposition by last will and testament, and disposi-
tions by law for bona fid6 debts, or consequent upon intestacy, in less
than three whole years after the passage of this act; andprovided more.
over, that the said Alexander Keech shall cause the said negro to be
registered in the records of Prince George's county within three
months after he shall have been brought iiito this state.
