WuntR As, It is represented to; this general assembly, by Wal-  1822.
ker K. Armastead, that he is a Colonel in the army of the United
States, and that the house provided by the government for him to
live in, is not within the limits of Fort Washington, at which post
he is stationed, but within the limits of Prince-George's county,
hnmediately adjoining the fort works, and that he the said Walker
K. Armstead is desirous of bringing into this state a negro ser-
vant nameld John, and to retain the said servant, so long as he re-
reains a resident of this state-Therefore,

powered, at any time after the passage of this act, to remove and
bring into this state the negro slave John, and that the removal of
said slave, and bringing him into the state of Marvland, shall not
be deemed or taken, or in any manner be construed or operate, to
entitle him to freedoni-Provided, That the said negro, when re- Provlio.
moved agreeably to the provisions of this act, shall be recorded in
the records of Prince-George's county court, within three months
after his arrival in said county.

SEc. 1. 13 iR EN A c'ul) By the General Assembly of fa<rylaml, Repeal.
That all such parts of the act entitled, An act for changing the
name of Charles-tL'own in Charles county to that of Port Tobacco;
for securing the titles of proprietors of lots and houses therein, and
for the rcgtlation and improvement of the said town, passed at
Diecember session eighteen hundred and twenty, chapter one hun-
dred and fifty-nine, as relates to the appointment of commissioners
and a bailiff for said townand prescribing their duties, be, and the
same is hereby repealed.

swine he shall lind going at large therein; ii:l it shall be the duty of -notice-sale.
the said constable so seizing and impounding, immediately to set
up notices thereof at the most public places Of s lid town, for at
leait two days, and to insert the marks and descriptions of such
gee:ie or swine in said notices; and if the same are not reclaimed
withia two days after seizing and impounding, and the expenses of
impounding and keeping to be allowed by atjustice of the peace be
paid, tolgetiier wiLh the sunI  of seventy-:ive cents for every
hog and twenty live cents for every goose, that the same shall be
puoicly sold by the said constable, giving one day's notice in writ-
iug of the tine and place of such saie; and the proceels of such
sale shall first be appiied to the expense of impounding and keep-
