Distillaiionof  SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate antl Huse of  epresenta-
,spirituous  li- tives, of the State of Louisiana, in General Assemby coiwened :l That
betpro. hercafter it shall not bo laIwful, during the existing war, todistill withA
the State, 'ny -kind of grain, sugar molasses or can  jico, imto any,
kind of intoxicating liquor, and an' person convicted of srid offense
shall be punished by a ine of not less than ive thousand dollars,. nor
more than fifteen thousanA dolhrs, and by imprisounmtt in the parish
