Making an appropriation for the general expenses of the State for the fiscal year ending the
thirty-first day of March, eighteen hundred and fifty-nine.

ated ror the ex- State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That the following
scayear cor- sums be and they are hereby appropriated for the following purposes,
Ae. 1S, and for the fiscal year conunencing on the first day of April, eighteen hun-
endingoutnhe51st dred and lifty-eight, and ending on the thirty-first day of March, eighteen
or Mtarch, 1$5. hundred and tifty-nine:
For the salary of the Governor, under act No. 309 of 1855, four thou-
sand dollars ($4,000).
For the salary of thie Secretary of State, under act No. 273 of 1855,
two thousand dollars ($2,000).
For the salary of the State Treasurer, under act No. 325 of 1855,
twenty-live hundred dollars ($2,500).
Forthe salary of the Auditor of Public Accounts, under act No. 119
of 1855, four thousand dollars ($4,000).
For the sabrv of the Chief Clerk of Auditir's ofice, appropriation
bill, two thousand i dollars ($2,00U).
For the snlary of the Clerk of the Sevretary of State's office, appropri-
ation bill, one thousand dollars ($1,000).
For the salary of the State Superintendent of Public Education, under
act No. .321 of 1i55, two thousand live hundred dollars ($2,500).
For the salary of the Attorney-General, under act No. I; of 1855,
thirty-live hundred dollars ($3,500).
Fo r the salary of the Clerk of the First District Court of New Orleans,
under act No. 58 of 1855, six thousand dollars ($6,000).
For the salary of the State Librarian, under act No. 329 of 1855,
twelve hundred dollars ($1 ,200).
For the salary of the Governor's Private Secretary, twelve hundred
dollars ($1,200).
For the salary of the Governor's Messenger, appropriation hill, three
hundred and sixty dollars ($30).
For the salary of the Copying Clerk of the Secretary of State's olice,
appropriation bill, six hundred dollars ($600).
For the salary of the Rgikter of the Laud Ofico at Baton Rouge, act
No. 200 of, ISi5, two hundred and fifty dollars ($250).
For the salary of the Receiver at Baton Rouge, two hundred and fifty
dollars ($250).
For the salary of the Register of the Land Ofliee at Winusboro', act
No. 286 of 18)5, one hundred and fifty dollars ($150).
For the salary of the Receiver of the Land Ollive 'at Winiiboro', act
No. 286(i of 185S,-one hundred and fifty dollars (4150).
For the salary oe the Watchi'an of the State House, approprintion
bill, six hundred dollars ($600).
For the salary of the Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representa-
tives, nt No. 326 of 1855, twelve hundred dollars ($1,200).
For the salary of the Sergeant-at-Arims of the Senate, act No. 320 of
1855, one thousand dollars ($1,000).
For the salary of the Judges of the Supreme Court, act No. 254 of
1855 , twn'nty-five thousnud dollars (825,000).
For the salary of the Judges of the District Courts, under acts No. 255
and 344 of 1855, sixty-three thousand five hundred dollars ($63,500).
