To amend the third section of an Act entitled  An Act relative to Divorce, approved
March fourteenth, eighteen hundred and fiftyfilve.
SEcuro- 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa.
Time when di* tives of the State of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That

ta cases.  approved March fourteenth, eighteen hundred aiid lifty-five, be so
amended and reOnacted, as to read as follows: That except in the
cases where the husband or wife may have been senteced to an in-
famous punishment or convicted of adultery, no divorce shall be
granted, unless a judgment of separation frot Led and board shall
have been rendered between the parties and one year shall have cx-
pired from the date of the judgment bf seperation from bed and
board, aid no reconciliation shall have taken place ; in the cases
excepted above, a judgment of divorce may be grauted in the same
decree which pronounced the separation of bed and board.
When tis Act  Sc. 2. le it further enacted, Itc., That this Act shall take effect

have thf. right to enter plaintations to visit the negro huts, unless
the owner or agent, if present Ott the plantitioni, shall be notified of
the presence of the Patrol, iii order that he may accompaniy them
should he wish to do Ho; be aid the. same is hereby repealed so far
as it is applicable to the parishes of St. John the Baptist, St. James,
Caddo, Do Soto, Sabine, Natchituches, St. Landry, Latayette, Bossier,
Claiborne, Wiin and Bienville.
