No. 1.] AN ACT
For the relief of William I. Williams.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of
Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That permission is hereby
certain slaves granted to William H. Williams, or his legal representatives, to
o W. . w.- make application to the several authorities now in possession of the
msewho lee. slave or slaves seized by and forfeited to the State under and by
hemInthestate. virtue of the Act of eighteen hundred and seventeen, and the issue
of said slaves now in possession of the State; and that the several
authorities be and they are hereby authorized and required to de-
liver the said slave or slaves and the issue aforesaid to the said
Williams or his legal representatives, with full permission to keep
or to sell or dispose of the said slaves within the limits of the State;
Proviso, provided that no further demands be made upon the State on ac-
count of said slaves; and provided further, that this Act be con-
sidered an act of clemency.
