To compensate C. J. Nixon, of the parish of Winn, for pursuing and arresting
Nicholas Kieffer, charged with murder, and the slave Toney, charged with shoot-
ing with intent to kill
SECTION 1.   He it enacted by the Senate and louse qf Repre-
sentatires of the Sta/c of Louisiana in General Asscmbly con-
$o25 to be pal 0. vCned, That the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars be paid to C. J.
f1. cin fogr   Nixon, upon his warrant, by the State treasurer, out of any unap-
propriated moneys in the treasury, in compensation to him (and such
other persons as may have assisted him) for the pursuit and appre-
hension of the prisoners Nicholas Kieffei, charged with murder, and
the slave Toney, charged with shooting with intent to kill. said prison-
ers having broke jail in Winn eparish and behig _at the time fugitives
from justicc.
$2W) appropriated.  SEC. 2. Be iR further enacfed, J.r., That thesum of two hundred
and fifty dollars be and the same is herehy appropriated out of any
money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to pay the comipou-
sation allowed in the first section of this Act, to C. J. Nixon, of Winn
parish.
