Authorizing James McVay and Susan Lesage to adopt Tennessee Holt.
SECTION 1.   Be it enac/ed by the SCal and louse of Repre-
sentatives of the State of Louisiana, in General Assebabyk Con.
Jaecs  and vened, That James Mcray, and Susan Lcsage, his wife, be, and they
adoptTenneseHolt are hereby authorized, by an authentic act to be executed before any
Notary Public in the State, to adopt their neice, Tennessee Holt; tho
said Tennessee, when adopted, to be known and called Tennessee
Holt McVay, and to have all the rights and privileges ais though she
was the issue of the marriage between the said James MoVay and
Susan Lesage; Provided, however, that the adoption herein allowed
shall not interfere with the rights of forced heirs.
When this Act  SEo. 2. Be it further enacted, 4-c., That this law shall go into

by emancipating the slaves belonging to his estate, vi : Marie Justine,
Clara, An le, Pamela, Celestine, Gustave, and Justin, for the long,
faithful an4 meritorious services by them rendered to the deceased;
