every sea-going steamer so built and completed as aforesaid, and
four dollars per ton for each and every river or lake Steamer so built
and completed as aforesaid.
t   So.2. Be it further enacted, S-c... That any person demandiig
complied ith into the reward or bonus provided by this act shall file in the oflice of the
obtan  i  Secretary of State a certificate signed by the collector of the Port,
and the builder of any vessel or vessels, which said cetificate shall
state the name or names of the builder or builders, the name and
tonnage of the ship or other vessel, and that said ship or other vessel
was wholly built and completed within this State, after the passage
of this act, and upon the production of a copy of said certificate,
countersigned by the Secretary of the State, it shall be the duty of
the auditor of public accounts to give to the holder of said certified
copy a warrant upon the treasurer for the amount to which said hol-
der may be entitled under the provisions of this act.

force for and during the term of five years from and after its passage.

To athorize Thorna V. Reed andu his wife, Elizabeth Fearine, of the city of New
Orleans, late city of Lafayette, to adopt Thomas Reed  Reger. their nephew.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representalives of the
State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That Thomas V.
Adoption ofta Reed aRId his wif'e, Elizabeth Fearing, of the city of New Orleans, late
child,      city of Lafhyette, be, and they are hereby authorized to adoptas their
Conditions of said legitimato heir, Thomas Reed Reger, thteir nephew; Provided such
adoption.   adoption be made to appear by an act to be executed by them before
a notary public and two competent witnesses, within the year from
the passage of this act.

Concerning the emancipation of slaves in this State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the State of  Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That
whic otheinan hereafter no slave or slaves shall be ermauciptated in this State, ex-
ispeoat tave cept upon express condition that when emancipated, they shall be
sent out of the United States within twelve months after being eman.
