No. 163.                   AN ACT
To refund to the heirs of the late Eugene Fortier deceased, a certain sum of mo-
ney by them paid for State duty on amount of sales of property belonging
to said succesion.
Sdctioi 1. Be -it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
A ocerfain Bill of the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That the
heirs of tugono sum of four hundred and seventeen dollars and fifty cents, beintg
Fortier.     tamount of State duties paid into the treasury, on sales of plantation
and slaves belonging to the succession of the late Eugene Fortier
deceased, 1e refunded to his legal heirs, payable unto thern by a war-
rant of the Auditor of Public accounts on the State Treasurer.
Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, 4c., That the sum of four liutin-
Appropriationof dred and seventeen dollars apd fifty cents be, and the same is hereby
appropriated out of any monies in the treasury not otherwise appro-
priated.

Harrison and others, teachers of schools in the parish of West Baton Rouge,
where indigent children were taught in the year one thousand eight hundred
and forty-eight.
Be it enacted by the Senate aud House of Representatives of the
Appropriationof State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That for the
teCisersorsof purpose of carrying into effect an act entitled an act providing for
in to varkh ;['the paymentit of school teachers fbr services rendered during tle years
nouge.      eighteen hundred and forty-six, eighteen hundred and forty-seven anld
eighteen hundred and forty eight, that the sutm of eight hundred (101-
Ilrs be, and the satne is hereby appropriated to pay the teachers of
schools for the year eighteen hundred and forty-eight, in the parish of
West Baton Rouge, anttd the auditor of public accounts is hereby at-
thorized and required to issue his warrant on tite treasuter, in favor of
those persons who shall produce the certificates of tle parochial
oflicers of' West l3atotn Rouge, as required by the act approved Match
sixteetith, eighteen hundred and forty-eight.
