Be it enacted b  the Senite and Hlouse of Representatives of the Stale
of Louivianta, in General Assembly convened, That from and after the
irines t:itoed promulgation of this act, any trader, pedlar, hawker by land or water, tavern
lya sotrp tntozt or grog-shop keeper, or any master or owner, or any hand employed onl
,ating liquors to board of any flat-boat, or any water craft whatever, or any other person
whatever, who shall sell, give or deliver, or cause to be sold, given or deli-
vered, in payment, or under any pretence whatsoever, to the slave of all
other person or persons, without the consent and authorization of the mnaster
or owner, or person having charge ol such slave, any spirituous or intoxi-
=ating liquors, or make any bargain, agreement or contract witll such slave,
