           No. 234.'                     AN   ACT
                      For the relief of Pierre N16o, Joseph  ile, and iEdward Mailas,  n.P.
             Be  it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of
 Appropriation Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That the sum of two hundred
 ftondred  and fifty-two dollars be, and the samo is hereby granted, for the space of
 dollars In fhvr two years from the promulgation of the present act, to Pierre M61o, Joseph
 Sin   Indi- Mdlo, and Edward Malas, f m. c., and veterans of eighteen hundred and
           fourteen and eighteen hundred  and fifteen. And  the State treasurer Is
           hereby authorized to pay monthly to the said Pierre M6lo, Joseph Mlo
           and Edward  Malas,  on the wairant of the auditor of public accounts, the
           sum  of seven dollars each, from any funds in the treasury not otherwise
           ,ppropriated.

             SECTION  1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives oj
           the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That in all elections
         nto be held in pursuance of the laws of this State, it shiall be sufficient in the
   e at pj  arIshes of Orleans and Jefferson, if the three commissioners to preside at
wth ap  fie said election, and the two clerks to register the niames of the voters and
           sign theireturus at each precinct, are appointed within five days before
           said election.

  echho  or  SEc. 2.  Be it further enacted, 4-c., That when the sheriff and coroner
          .P.re both candidates for re-election, the sheriff shall be the returning officer,
