No.  3        l              AN   ACT.
              For the relief of Jacob A. Norager, a free man of color.
   Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State
of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That from and after the pas.
sage of this act, it shall be permitted to Jacob A. Norager, a free man of
color, to reside in the State, upon his giving bond and security, in the
sum of five hundred dollars, for his good behavior, any law to the con-
Irary notwithstanding.

No.  4.]                   RESOLUTION.
Whereas  all the law books belonging to the District Court of the Parish of
   Ascension, were destroyed in the courthouse, which was lately con-
   sumed by fire, therefore,
   Be  it Resolved by the Senate and  Hbouse of Representatives of the
State of Louisiana, in General Assembly  convened, That upon applica.
tion to the proper officers by the Clerk of the District Court, or by his
deputy, they shall be authorized to deliver to him, for the use of said
Court, a Civil Code and Code of Practice, and a complete set of all the
Reports of the Decisions of the Supreme Court of this State, or such of
them  as may be in the State Library.

No.  5.]                      AN  ACT.
         For the relief of Robert It. Irion, late Sheriffof the Parish of Rapides.
   Be it enacted by the Senate and Hlouse of Representatives of the State
of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That the State Treasurer in
settling with R. R. Irion, late Sheriff of the parish of Rapides, for the bal-
ance due by him on the State taxes of said parish, for the year eighteen
hundred and forty-one, be and he is hereby authorised to allow the legal
amount  of commissions due to him, in the same manner as if an execution
had  not been issued against the said Irion for said balance,
