Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the6t e of
Louisiana in General Assembly convened ; That the annual pension of
fifteen dollars per month allowed by an act approved, March fourteenth.
eighteen hundred and thirty-six. to Jean Baptiste Hardy, free man of
color, eighty years old, and ex-Captain of the Battalion of Militia, compo-
sed of men of color, who served the State in the campaign of eighteen
hundred and fourteen and eighteen hundred and fifieen, be increased to
the sum of twenty-five dollars per month; which pension shall be paid to
him on his warrant by the State Treisurer.

No, 100-AN ACT to anend thotharter of the Now OrIvans Gas Light and Banking
Company.
Whereas the Stockholders of the New Orleans Gas Light and Bauking
Company have by their memorial petitioned to he permitted to surren-
der so much of their Charter as grants to them  the privilege of
Ban king
SECT. 1. Be it therefore enacted ty thejSenate and louse qf Representatives
Act repealed.qfthe State ofLouisiana, in General Assembly convened; That snid surren-
der is accepted, and that so much of the act approved the first day of
April eighteen hundred and thirty-five, incorporating said NewOrleans
Gas Light and Banking Company, and of all supplementary acts as au-
thorize the said Company to carry on the business of Banking, is repealed.
Provieo.  Provided -that all the debtors of the branches of the said Bank, fur-
nishing good and sufficient security, shall have for the first two years the
privilego of renewing their notes or other obligations, or delay ing the
payment there6f, by the payment e tch year, of ten per centum upon the
whole amount due by them exclusive of intnro-t, and after that period, on
the payment of fifteen per centum annually, exclusive of interest upon
the whole amount until the entire debts are paid and extinguished; pro-
vided the place ofpayment shall not be changed without the consentofthe
debtor, and that the debtor shall not be required to give security out of
the parish from which any branch may be withdrawn.
SEctr. 2. Be it further enacted, 4-c., That so much of said act 'And of all
others, in relation thereto, as authorizes said Company to mnke and vend
Gas within the city of New Orleans, and its faubourgs, with all the rights
Limitation. and priviLges thereby granted, subject to all the clauses and conditions,
thereto annexed, he continued in force, under the name and title of the
New Orleans Gas Light Company, until the first day of April one thous-
and eight hundred and seventy-five, at which period all the corporate pri-
rroviso.  vileges of the said Company shall expire; and provided the said Gas
Light Company, shall never raise the price of Gas above six dollars per
one thousand cubic feet, and sliall give tip the right of extending its ope-
rations beyond the corporate limits of the three Municipalities of the city
of New Orleans, and provided further that all the privileges conferred in
the thirty-fifth section of the original act dated the first day; of April
eighteen hundred and thirty-five Ie. repealed.
