common cartier, bailee,trustee, curator, testamentary executor, adminii-
trator, tutor, or any other person or persoiis whatsoever, upon conviction
of any such breach of tru't or embezzlement. or of having aided or abet-
ted in the commission thereof. or of having been aceesory thereto before
or after the fict, shall suffer imprisonment at hard labor, fir a term not
exceeding seven years, nor less than one \car.
SrcT. 2. Be it f:rther enacted, 4-.; 'hat the preceding section shall
not be so contrued as to repeal the act entitled -an act to provide lor the
punishment of certain crimes therein mentioned, approved February
tenth, cighteen hundred and twenty-one.
SECT. 3. Bc itfrther enactcd, Av; That in prosecution f r embczzle-
ment or larceny ,f bank note-, checks, bills of exckiinge, promissory
notec, gold, or silver money or of any other property of that kind, it shall
not be necessary to set fi tth i' the indictment a -rinute and dotailed des-
cription thereof, it a general allegation of the amount or amounts and
cf the thing or things embezzlt:dl or stolen shall ho sufficient; and evi-
dence of lareeny or embezzlement of a part shall warrant a conviction.
Srct. 3. And b,: it further enarted. Av.; That the offence mentioned in
this act may he presorthid only by threa years after the time when the
act of embezzlement or larceny shall have been disco.ered by the per-
son or versons, corporation or corporaious ijured, any laws to the con-
trary notwithstandinig; provided that the prescription as aforesaid shall
be intet rupted by the absence of the off:nhler within the meaning of this
art from the State of Loiisiana, or by any other means by which said
offender would reniovo himself out of the jirisdiction of the State of Lou-
isina.

SEcT. 1. De it enarted by the Senate and House of Representatives of
the State ofLouisiant, in General Assembly convcned; That the resi-
dent citizens of the United States, within the folliwing limits, to wit :
Boundaries. Beginning it the Mississippi River on the lower lino of the town of
CarrolPon in the parish of Jeffiercon, and following said lino extended to
the margin ofthe shill road of the New Orleans Canal and Banking Com-
pany, thence running along Faid line westerly, to the Mississippi ; not
excecling the limits assigncd to rnid town as ier plan depo ited in the
offica of Felix Grima, notary public of New Orleans; thall ho and they
are hereby created and made a corporation and body politic with per-
petual succession by the name and style of the  Town of Carrollton.
