No. 48-AN ACT to authorise the Police Jury of the Parish of Concordia (o create two
additional Police Jury Wards.
Be it enacted by the Senate and Rouse of Representatives of the State
of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened ; That the Police Jury of
the Parish of Concordia be authorized to create two additional Police Ju-
ry Wards in said Parish.

No. 49.-AN ACT Making appropriations of money for the use of the Company of Na,
tive American Artillery, Washingion Battalion, the Artillery of Baton Rouge and the
East Feliciana Artillery.
SECT. 1. BC it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of
the State of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That the Treasurer
of the State be and lie is hereby authorized and directed to pay on the
warrant of the Governor of the State, the sum of two thousand dollars
hereby appropriated for the building of four caissons. and the casting of
one brass six pounder, for the use of the Company of the Native Ameri-
can Artillery, attached to the Washington Battalion, let Brigade La. M.
SECT. 2. Be itfur   r enaceted, 4r., Tha  the Governor shall not.
issue his warrant for the sum afore! aid until it shall have been reported to
him by the Adjutant General that the caissons have been built and the
six pounder cast.
SECT. 3. Be it Jurther enacted, 4-., That the act entitled  An
Act to grant an appropriation to the Artillery Company of Baton Rouge
approved Sth of March 1841, making an appropriation of two hundred
and fitty dollars annually to the above mentioned Company for the pur-
poses therein mentioned for and during the space of five years, be and
the same is hereby revived for one year longer, dating from the.date of
the expiration of said law as therein provided, the said appropriation to
be paid in the manner prescribed by the above recited act.
SECT. 4. Be itfitrthCr Cnacted, 4x., That the sum of two hundred and
fifty dollars be and is hereby annually appropriated fbr the benefit of the
East Feliciana Artillery Company at Clinton, for the term of two years,
to be paid by the State Treasurer on the warrant of the Captain of said
Company countersigned by the Inspector General of the State.

No. 50,-AN ACT to authorize the State Treasurer to pay to Eloi Dugas a sum of
money.
Be it enacted by the Senate and Rouse of Representatives of the
State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That from and after
the passage of this act, the Treasurer of the State be and he is hereby
authorized to pay to Eloi Dugas of the parish of SI. Martin, upon his
own warrant, the sum of three hundred dollars, out of any monies in the
Treasury not otherwise appropriated, as one half of the appraised value
of a certain slave Loston convicted of arson, in said parish of St. Martin,
on the 12th day of November 1814; and sentenced to hard labor for
life.
