Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatires of the State of Louisiana, in Geacral Assembly convened, That the Treasurer of the State be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to receive from Aimd Guillet, the sum of five hundred dollars, in the uncurrent notes of the banks of this State, and which were received by him as Cqllector o& State taxes on real estate and slaves in the city of Now Orleans, in pay- ment of taxes, at par, and when the said notes were current, which notes were so received by him only a few days before the depreciation of the notes of the said Banks. Garey and Joseph M. Ford, be appointed Commissioners, to meet at the office of the Parish Judge of the aforesaid Parish, on the first Monday in May next, or as soon there- after as practicable, and lay off the aforesaid Parish into new Police Jury Wards, to consist of not less than five, nor more than seven, at the option of the Commissioners above named.
