bursed by him for advertising the sale of the property of the Mexican
Gulf Railway Company, by order of the First Judicial District Court,
in the suit of the State of Louisiana against the said Company.

No. 116-AN ACT for the Relief of John Martin, Coroner of the Parish of St. Mary.
Be it enacted by the Senate and Iouse of Representatives of the State of
Louisiana, ini General Assembly convened, That the Treasurer of the
State be, and he is hereby authorized to pay to John Martin, on his own
warrant, the sum of fifty dollars, out of any money in the Treasury not
otherwise appropriated, to be in fRll for his services and expenses for
transporting a slave named -          , the property of 3enjamit I.
Ghant, from the county seat of the Parish of St. Mary, to the peniten-
tiary at Baton Rouge; said slave being convicted.of a conspiracy, and
sentenced to the penitentiary.

Be it resolved by the Senate and Iouse of Iepresentatives of the State
<f Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That the resolution passed
on the 24th of February last, granting leave of absence from this State,
for ninety daysi to Judge A. Garrigues Flaujac, of the Parish of St. Lan-
dry, be so amended as to allow the said judge ninety days leave of
absence frontlhe date of his departure from the State, instead of from
the date of tie passage of said resolution.

No. 128.-AN ACT for the Relief of Franqois Daires, J.U. Jarreau and ZVnon Dmoruelle.
WIGREAS, during the latter part of the year 1842, the State convicts
were employed by George T. Dunbar, then State Engineer, acting as
Superintendent and Director of Public Works, in making a dam and
levee across the mouth of False River; and, 1VlEtEAS, Franqois
Baires, J. U. Jarreau and Zdnon D6moruelle, of the Parish of Pointe
Coup6e, furnished materials and provisions for the use of the State
convicts and the construction of the said public work ; aid, WitIuREAs,
they received no warrants for the payment thereof, from the then Engi-
neer, whose term of office has expired: therefore,
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State
of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened,- That the State Treasurer
be, and is hereby authorized and required to pay to Fran90is Baires, on
his own warrant, the sum of thirty-one dollars and seventy-four cents;
to J. U. Jarreau, on his own warrant, the sum of one hundred and twen-
Ly-fouir dollars and twenty-five cents, and to Zinon Dimoruelle, on his
own warrant, the sum of one hundred and ninety-five dollars and sixteen
