No 77.-AN ACT to change the Election Precinct from Tuscumbia, in the Parish of Madi-
eon to YOung'a int, in the tame Parish.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That the Elec-
tion Precinct now at Tuscumbia, in the Parish of Madison, be changed
to, and established at Young's Point, in said Parish, at the house in
which Mr. Young's store is now kept.

No.78.-IttSOLUTION.
Be it Resolved by the Senate and louse of Representatives of the State
of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That the State Engineer, or
other person or persons having charge of the colored Convicts of the
State, he and are hereby instructed to employ the said Convicts of the
State, in cutting out and cleaning a road from near Thihodeauxville, on
the Lafourche, to a convenient point on the Mississippi River, in the
Parish of St. James, as he or they may deem it advisable, after a survey
of the route is made, and to commence said work as soon as practicable
-with due regard to the interest of other works already ordered : Provided,
that in case the office of Civil Engineer should be abolished, the Police
Juries of the Parishes of St. James and Lafourcho Interior, shall each
appoint three Commissioners, whose duties in this case shall be the same
as those of the Civil Engineer.
Be it further Resolved, 4'c., That this work shall be done on the same
terms and conditions as has been provided for the accomplishment of
other works ordered by the same force, to wit: that the inhabitants near
the Road, or those interested in its completion, furnish said force with
provisions and accommodations while there employed.

No. 7.-AN ACT to Provide for the better Administration of the Louisiana renitentiary.
- SecTiov 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened: That the Gov-
Governor aen ernor of the State be, and he is hereby authorized to lease the said Peni-
thorized olone tentiary for a term not to exceed five years, on the terms and conditions
the  aenprescribed in this act; and after having given notice in the State gazette,
and in such other newspapers in the United States as he may select for
Ntice i, that purpose, inviting proposals: Provided, that no contract shall be con-
c gen. cluded until three months after the first notice in the State gazette.
