Charles, St. John the Baptist, St., James, Ascension, Assumption, 'La-
fourche Interior, and' Terrebonne.                 m     :   .
The' Third District'shall be cothposed' of the Parishes 'of Avoyelles,
Tiird Distriet. Catahoula, Carroll, Madison, Concoidia, St. Tammany, St. Helena, Liv-
ingston, Washington, East Feliciana, West Feliciana, Pointe Coupde,
East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, and Iberville.'
The Fourth; Disttibt sball'be composed of the Parishes of St. Mary,
St. Martin, Calcasieu, Lafayette, St. Landry, Rapides, Natchitoches,
Caddo', Claiborne, Uniont Ouachita; and Caldwell.
SEC. 2. Be it ffrter enacted,'4v. That the said elections shall com-
mence on the'first Monday of July next, and eachauccessive election for
Day of Elecions members of Congress that may be hereafter held' in this State, shall
commence on the first Monday of July, and be held in the manner and
form, and during tli'e time, provided by existing laws.
SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, 4v. That in all elections for members of
Congress hereafter to be held, that part of the Parish of Orleans situa-
ted on the right bank of thd river Mississippi shall deposite its votes for
Representatives to Congress in a separate box.
SEC. 4. Be it firther enacted, 4v. -That all laws and parts of laws con-
trary to the provisions of this Act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

No. 102.-RESOLUTIONS.
Be it Resolved by the Senate and House ofRepresentatives of the State
of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That the State Engineer
be instructed to employ the colored convicts in completing the road
from Baton Rouge to Clinton: Provided, that the inhabitants furnish
guards and buildings for the safe keeping of said convicts, while em-
ployed on this work, pay their expenses of transportation to this point,
and furnish provisions for the force there employed.
Be it further Resolved, 4c. That the State, Engineer, after being em-
powered by the Police Jury of, the.Parish of East Baton Rouge, shall,
as soon as he can make it convenient, repair to the said Parish and make
a complete public highway of the road cut out for a railroad from Baton
Rouge to Clinton.

Be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of ihe State
of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That the State En'ginber be
required to examine into the importance of exteiding the navigation of
Bayou de Glaize to Lake Pearl, and report to the Rouse on the first week
of the next session.
