SEC. 2. .Rnd be it further enacted, Sc., That leave of Leave of ab.absence be granted to Thomas N. WHEREAS the police jury of the parish of Concordia did, at the November session of the said jury, in the year 1841, make and ordain two ordinances, in the fol- lowing words, to wit: AN ORDINANCE, Entitled An ordinance to levy a special tax, and for other purposes. Whereas unlimited power has been granted by the legislature of the state to the police jury of the parish of Concordia to assess and collect any tax which they may deem necessary, on lands within their limits, to cover the expenses of leveeing any public lands or other necessary work, to shelter the inhabitants against inun- dation; Therefore, Section 1. Be it ordained, by the police jury of the Lcvce wards. parish of Concordia, that said parish be, and is hereby divided into three levee wards, to wit
