Be it resolved by the iS'enate and House of Repre-
sentotives of the N/ate of Louisiana in Generat As-
sembly convpined, That the state treasurer he authorised
to cancel the sale of slave .1effreV, made for account of
the state to George May. the said slave being in the
habit of running away, and to sell the said slave at
auction, without any other guarantee than the title.

Resolved by the Senole and       [House of   Represen-
tatives of th iS'tate of Louisiana, in general assemblty
convened, That our senators and representatives in
congress be requested to use their best exertions to pro-
cnre an appropriation of money by congress necessary
for the completion of the survey of the lands in this
state ; and that onur senators and representatives be fur-
ther requested to nrge upon the executive department of
the government to cause the said public lands to be
brought into inarket at as early a period as possible ; and
that the governor be requested to forward copies of this
resolution to our senators and representatives in congress
as early as practicable.
