[No. 49.]-AN ACT
'For the relief of James McAllister, of the Parish of Lafourche Interior.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatires of
$',100 'b the State of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That
Wmuister.  the State Treasurer be and he is hereby directed to pay to
James McAllister, upon his warrant, the sum of eleven hun-
dred dollars; being an amount due the said McAllister by
the State, as an indemnity for the loss of certain slaves pur-
chased by him at a sale made by the Sheriff of the Parish of
Lafourcho Interior, under an execution issued by the State
Treasurer against the property of one Reuben Bush, a de-
faulting Sheriff of the Pansh of Terrebonne, which slaves
were afterwards seized and sold out of the possession of the
said McAllister under a judgment obtained against the said
Bush by his wife Maria Ludivine Brasset.

Judge 0. P. Jackson, of the City Court of New Orleans for
the months of August and September of the present year.
Leave of ab-  Be it further resolved, That Berlin Childress, Parish
nuto .il. Judge of the Parish of Livingston be and is hereby autho-
dress.     rised to absent himself from the State, for the term of two
months, at any time between the passage of this act and the
first of November next.
