act, when notified by the.Clerk as before provided, to attend
on the fist day of the term of the Court, or as soon there-
after as practicable, to set fortrial, hearanddetermine all such
suit or suits, which he is authorised under the provisions of
tHis act to try, which said suits shall be tried on days agreed
on by the two Judges, in preference to other suits pending
in said Courts.
SEc. 4. Be it further enacted, 4r. That the compensation
Salary of sPe- of said special Judge shall be two hundred and fifty dollars,
for each and every term to which he may be called to serve
under the provisions of this act, to be paid by the Treasurer
of the State, out of any monies in the Treasury not other-
wise appropriated, on the warrant of the Clerk of the Court
in which he may be called upon to act, certified under the
seal of the Court.
SEc. 5. Be itffurther enacted, 4v. That the special Judge
Privilege.  appointed under this act, shall not be prevented from pur-
suing his profession, in any of the Courts of this State.
SEC. 6. Bec itfitrl T'r Cuacted, 4r. That this act shall be in
force from and after its passage.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the State of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That
the State Treasurer pay to the order of Captain Searles of
$150 to be Baton Rouge  one hundred and fifty dollars, for services
paid to captain rendered the State.
