[No. 25.-AN ACT
For changing the manner of holding Elections in the Parish of Ascension, aid
also changing the Election Precincts of said Parish.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representative
of the State ofLouisiana in General Assembly,, convened, Thtt
from and after the passage of this act, the following shall bi
the places of holding election in the Parish of Ascension
Election pre. viz .Fit
cinctc in the   Firt precinct, at the Court 1Touse in Donaldsonville
parish of Ascen. Second precinct, at or near the house of Judge Duffil. Third
at or near the store of Voleir Ifebeit, and Fourth, at or neal
the hbuse of Frangois Picou on the Amite River; and tha
the elections be held in the following manner: on the firs
day of election at the first and fourth precincts; second day
at the second precinct, and last day at the third precinct
and that all laws to the contrary be. and are herebyrepealec

For the relief of Sally Demery and her children and Allen Deorncr.
Preamble.  Whereas satisfactory information has been presented to tl
Legislature that Sally Demery late of the Parish of Cat,
houla, and now in the Parish of Caldwell, a free womE
of color, is the vidow of David Domery a free man
color who served with honor in several campaigns durii
the late war, and was in service as a soldier at the siel
of New Orleans in eighteen hundred and fourteen-f
teen. That said Sally is now left by the deatl of h
husband with a large family of children, in a destitu
situation, andhas been, though of the most unexceptional
character, and no charge of misconduct has been ma
against her, pursuant to an act entitled  An Act to preve
free people of color from entering the State and for ott
purposes approved the sixteenth of March eighteen hi.
dred and thirty, ordered to leave the State. That the I
band of said Sally had three brothers who served repa
bly in the army during the late war, and that she hadi
brothers who fought in the army at the siege of New(-
leans, and one died of a mortal wound received dui
its continuance.
