AN ACT
Relative to the assessment and taxes of Madison parish and for other
purposes.
SECTION. 1. Be it enacted b, the Senate anl House of Re-
presentatives of the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly
convened, That the shcriff of Concordia pariqh be and he is
hereby required to deliver over to the sheriff of the parish of
Madison a true and certified copy of the assessment list, last
made by the assessors of the parish of Concordia and also to pay
over to the said shcriff of said parish of Madison all monies that
he shall have collected as taxes under said last assessment from
that portion of Concordia now in :he parish of Madison.
SECT. 2. Be it farther enacd, L'c., That thc said sheriff
of the parish of Madison be and he is hereby required to collect
all taxes not yet paid by those who have been assessed in sa;d
parish of Madison and pay the same together with such amounts
as he shall have received from the sheriff of Concordia psrish
to the State and parish treasury of Madison as by lav requir-
ed, &c.
SECT. 3. And be it further enacted, dyc., That the firstses-
sion of district court to be held in the ninth judicial district for
the parish of Concordia shall be held on the third monday in the
month of June next, all laws to the contrary notwithstanding

To the relief of Thomas Gorman.
Be it enacted by the Senate and liuse of Representatives of
the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened!, 'That
the treasurer of the State be and lie is hereby authorised and re-
quired to pay out of any monies in the treasury not otherwise
appropriated to Thomas Gorman the sum of one thousand dol-
lars the same being in fill consideration fbr the slaves namet
Bill and Jane executed last August in the parish of St. Helena for
the murder of Mrs. Elizabeth Gorman.
