An Act

To anmend an Act entitled  an Art to amend the Iowa of the Court of
Probates, in and foir the parish of Or!eans,and for other purpose, up-
proved it M11art h, one thousand eight h undred and thirty-bix.
Preamble.     \Vll    AS, the jurisiliction of the said Court of Probates,
i, daeily beconint more aid more iportant and etensive, and
as the exertions of the . ludgze presiding the same are thercby
ininterriptedly required, so as to leave hit no time for vac: -
tions or release, the law not allowing him to adjourn at any sea-
son of the vcar:
le it therifore enactd b the Senate and 1oue of Repre-
scntatires of the State of Louisiana, in General Axsmb y
courened, That fron the tir.t day tf Febrtuarv. one thousand
eight hundred and thirty-seven, the salary of the Judge of the
Court of Probates in and fir the parih land city of New Orleans,
Judge's salary. shall be raised to the sir if./our thousand fire hundired dollars
per year, payable quarterly I by the Treasuirer of the parish of
Orleias, on the warrant if the said .1ud1ge, in the lorm and inan-

presentatires of the State of Louisiana, in Gneral As~sembly
conrened, That from and after the pa saize of this Act, all road
syndies whoshall til to pe trlitrt he dutties which are ntow or
mny be hereafter tillosed aidt them by law, or by ordinances of
their  respective  parilies, s.hall. on conviction iit-of, Le  fined
in a sum not less than one h'ilndred nor more than fi e hundred
dollars.
St:cr. 2. 13e it further ceacted, ete. That all Acts or parts
of any Act not conforning to this, be, und the same are hereby
repealed.
