AN ACT
For the relief of the Charity Hospital of New-Orleans, and for other
purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted b, the Senate and House of Repre-
8entatives of the State of Louisiana in General Assenbly con-
State ta.es to vened, That for the year eighteen hundred and thirty-five, and
be aesesed and thereafter, there shall be avsessed and collected the State taxes

ardent spirits, one hundred dollars; on grog shops, one hundred

exchange brokers, one hundred dollars for each year; which
tax shall be recovered from each partner of a flim. That on.

Orleans, to whom jurisdiction in this matter is hereby given,.
and whose judgments shall be subject to an appeal to the City
Court, as.in other cases of appeals from said associate judges,
on giving security as provided by law in such cases, and in all
other parts of the State, to be collected as heretofore by Sheriff:
Sic. 3. Be it further enacted, 6;r., That the Governor shall

entitled  An Act relative to the revenue of the State, approved
March thirtieth, eighteen hundred and thirty-three ; and that
Penalties,  the penalties imposed by said acts shall be recovered as herein-
