An Act
To authoriso the Treasurer of the State to subscribe live hundred shareS
on the part of the State, to the capital stock of the Barataria and
Lafourche Canal Company, and for other purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the Senate and House of
Representativev of the Statc of Louisiana, in General Assembly

Proviso.  Provided, however, that due regard shall be paid to every just
claim which other objects of Internal Improvement may have
upon this source of' Internal Improvement, (viz. slave labour)
