AN ACT
Supplementary to the several acts relative to the testamentary dssposition
of late Julien Poydras, in favor of the parishes of Point(Courdo and
West Baton Rouge.
SECT. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re-
presentatives of the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly
convened, That in future the commissioners named by the
Poydras' funds police jury of the parish of Point Coup6e, to vest the capital
may be loaned fund bequeathed by the late Julien Poydras, the interest of
at 8 per cent. which is to be applied to the endowing of the girls of said
parish, and to the erection of a college, be, and are hereby
authorized to put out all sums they may have in their hands,
at an interest of eight-per cent.
SECT. 2. Be it further enacted, 4,c. That the commis-

vided, that not more than one third, at most, of such loan,
shall be secured by the mortgage on the slaves.
SECT. 3. And be it further enacted, 4-c. That the interest
arising from the like donation to the parish of West Baton
Rouge, may, in future, be loaned at eight per cent, provided
the commissioners cannot obtain ten per cent.

AN ACT
Concerning Roads and Levees in the Parishes of St. Mary and St. Landry.
SECT. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re-
presentatives of the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly
Repealing convened, That the act relative to roads and levees in the
clause.     Parish of St. Mary, approved March thirty-first, eighteen
hundred and thirty-two, be and the same i, hereby repealed.
