AN ACT to incorporate a Volunteer' Fire Engine Company.
SECT. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Ref'reseH.

Fire Engine That Maunsel White, Joseph Lallande, E. Durrive, G. L. De-
Compary incor. peyster, Persifor Smith, John Banks, L. S. Levy, and such
porate      other persons, not exceeding fifty in number, as are now, or
may hereafter be associated with them, be ordained, declared;
and are hereby constituted a body corporate and politic, under
the name of the Orleans Fire Company; and under that name,
they and their successors, shall have succession, and be capable
of suing and being sued, pleading and being impleaded, defend-
ing and being defended, in all courts of justice whatsoever; and,
also, that they and their successors, by the aforesaid name, shall,
in law, be capable of purchasing, holding, and conveying any
estate, real and personal, for the use of said corporation.
SECT. 2. Be it furithe enacted, &c. Thai said company shall
Powertomake have the power of making such rules, regulations or by-laws,
by-laws.    which they shall deem proper: Provided, such rules, regula-
tions or by-laws, be not contrary to the constitution or any of the
laws of this state.
Fines, how  SECT. S. Be it further enacted, &c. That all fines imposed
recovered.  in conformity to the rules and regulations or by-laws, adopted
for the government of said company, shall be recovered before
any court of competent jurisdiction.
