only be demanded once in each suit, although two or more orders of execution
or orders of putting in possession. may have been prayed for in the same suit;
and provided also, that said tax shall constitute and be a.part of the costs of the
s'uit; and that the party who shall have advanced the money shall have the right
to recover the sante 'With all the other costs of suit from the party cast in the

Ta*  levied SEc. 3. Be itfurther enacted, 4c. That thesame tax shall be levied forthe benefit
forthe bene-ofsaid parish, on the 0futting intopossession of every succession which shall ex-
fit of the par-
ishof orleans ceed the sum of five hundred dollars, and which shall be opened in the parish of
Orleans, and the register of wills of said parish, shall give no copy of the judg-
ment ordering the putting into possession without a receipt of the parish treasurer
being delivered to him as heretofore prescribed, and under the same penalties
mentioned in the prededing section.
Attorney tax SEC. 4. Be itfurther enacted, &c. That in consideration of the said tax, attornies
fee abolishsl. shall be no longer entitled to receive ten dtllars taxed for costs, upon each suit,
from the party casttherein; and that the'said tax is hereby suppressed as it is it
other parishes for the payment of jurors.
Duty of the SEc. 5. And be it further enacted, &c. 'That there shall be paid by the slate
Treasurer. treasurer, on the warrant of the parish judge of New-Orleans, and out of any
moneysin the treasury not otherwise appropriated, an annual sum of one thou-
sand dollar- instead of the sum of five hundred dollars, which were heretofore
granted to said parish to aid the same towards the payment by then to be made
to the corporation of New-Orleans for the ront of the goal of said parish.

AN ACT for the relief of Arnaud Beauvais..
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the senate and house of represeitatives of the state of
touisiana in general assembly convened, That the acting governo; Pf the state,
be, and he is hereby authorised to pay to tie said Arnaud Beauvais, one hun-
dred and forty-five dollars and thirty-eight cents, on his warrant out of the
contingent fund.

AN ACT for the relief Geotge Clark, a free man of colour.
WHEREAs George Clark of the parish of West Feliciana, at this time a free
man of colour was a slave at the time of the death ofjiis parents George and Jane
Clark, free persons of colour, who lately died intestate.
Be it therefore enacted by the senate and house of representatives of the State
of Louisiana, in gendal assembly convened, That the State hereby renounces
in favor of said George Clark, all the rights it may have in the estate of his
