AN ACT To amend an act, entitled An Act relativ to runaway slaves in
this state.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of
the state of Louisiana in general assembly convened, That
Fourth depot from and after the publication of this act in the State Gazette
established. at New-Orleans, the jail of the parish of Ascension shall be
a fourth depbt for such runaway slaves as now are or may
hereafter be confined in goals of the parishes comprised in
the second judicial district, and that said depot shall, in eve-
ry respect, be conducted and managed in the manner direct-
ed by the law to which this is an amendment.
Sac. 2. And be it further enacted, That the keeper of said
i'ccs of the depot shall be allowed the same fees for his services as are
ieeper. received by the keepers of the depots of New-Orleans, of
East Baton Rouge and Alexandria, and shall be siubject to the
same duties and obligations as are imposed oil the said kee-
pers.
SEc. 3. And be it further enacted, That ranaway slaves shall
