AN ACT supplementary to the several acts relative to Weights and
Measures.

.    VaO- tives of the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly con-
what weights vened, that whoever shall sell, orn board of any ship,
o usue vessel, flat-boat, boat, or other water craft mooring
within the limits of the port of New Orleans, any spe-
cies of groceries, produce, or other merchandize
of any kind or nature whatsoever, shall be bound to
make use of such weights and measures as are pre-
scribed by the laws of the state, and stamped in the
manner thereby directed: under the penalties pre-
scribed by the act, approved on the twenty-eighth
of February, one thousand eight hundred and twen-
ty four, entitled An act supplementary to the act
entitled an act to establish an uniform standard of
weights and-measures within this state, approved
December twenty-first, one thousand eight hun-
dred and twenty-four.
Persons con-  Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That all and
traventg, every prosecutions against persons contravening
where sued. the provisions of this act shall be instituted before
the associate judges of the city court, or any other
tribunal of a competent jurisdiction of the city of
New Orleans.
When this  Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act
t shallbe shall be in force ten days after the promulgation
thereof.

tion to the general assembly, praying to be allowed
to dispose of certain property to him belonging,
consisting of six slaves.
