AN ACT relativeto ParishJudges exercising thedutiesof Auctioneers.
Whereas several Parish Judges believe them-
selves not bound to pay to the state, the duties im-
posed on public auctioneers at New-Orleans for
the sale of slaves, moveable and immoveable
property:
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
tives of the State of Louisiana, in Gbneral Assembly con-
vened, That whenever a parish judge shall act as
auctioneer, he shall be bound to pay to the state
treasurer the same per centage as is imposed on
auctioneers in New-Orleans, by the law providing for
the nomination of the same, and other acts passed
subsequently relative to auctioneers; provided that
property given up in consequence of failure or be-
longing to successions shil not be liable to pay
any per centage.
