AN ACT to dispense certain slaves therein mentioned with the age re-
quired by law for the emancipation of slaves.
Whereas Marie Claude Guilliory is the great
grandmother of the slaves whom she intends to
emancipate,
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represcnta.
latives of the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly
convened, That Marie Claude Guilliory, free wo-
man of color, be and she is hereby authorized to
emancipate the slaves Silesia of fourteen years of
age, and Rose nine years old, after the usual ad-
vertisements, provided no legal opposition is made
to said emancipation.

AN ACT to authorize the Governor to negotiate a loan with the Branch
Bank of the United States, in this city.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
tives of the State of Louisiana, in Gencrol Assembly con-
venecd, That, in case the Governor of this state
should not be able to contract with the banks in-
corporated by the Legislature of the state, for the
whole amount of the loan which he is authorized to
negotiate by the act entitled '- An act to authorize
the Governor of the state to negotiate a loan for the
sum therein mentioned, he be and isherehN author-
ized to borrow from the Branch of the United States
