o dispense Louis Monet, a quarteroon, with the time prescrib-
ed by law for the age of emancipation.
SECT. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly
convened, That Marie Louise Lecompte, widow Porter, be
and she is hereby authorized to emancipate Louis Monct,
her slave, aged about twenty-two years, after the usual pub-
lications, if no opposition is made to said emancipation in
conformity to law.
SECT. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall.
be in force from the passage thereof.

AN ACT
Relative to the Printing of the Criminal Code.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the State of Louisiana, in General .Assenbly convened,
That the Governor of the State be and he is hereby author-
ized to draw from the public treasury, on his warrant, such
sum as shall be due for the printing of the project of the
Criminal Code for this State, by virtue of the contract en-
tered into between the author of said Code and the printer
thereof, which payment shall be made as soon as the work is
delivered.
