:Fo prev4nt Aliens from being commissioned to any office, either
civil or military, within this State.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the State of Louisiana in General Assembly convened,
That from and after the passage of this act, no person shall
be commissioned to any office, either civil or military, within
this State, except he be a native or naturalised citizen of the
United States; Provided, that no alien, already commis-
sioned to hold any office, shall be deprived of his commis-
sion under this act; and all acts or parts of acts coming
vithin the purview of this act are hereby repealed.

AN ACT
To dispense certain slaves therein mentioned with the age re-
quired by law for the emancipation of slaves.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
tives of the State of Louisiana in General dssembly con:
vened, That the widow Adelaide Joly I-ulin, is hereby
authorised to emancipate her slaves, Desirbe, aged twenty-
five years, Elvize, aged twenty-three years, and her child,
named Antenor, aged about four years, after the usual pub-
lication, if no opposition be made to said emancipation by
those having an interest therein, after the time prescribed
by law.

pniatqd  same is hereby appropriated for opening and improving the
navigation of Old River, in the parish of Avoyalles, from the.
plantatiod of Dominique Coco to the Red River.
