AN ACT
To authorise the Treasurer of -the State of Louisiana to pay
to the Trustees of the Public Schools of the parish of
Ouachita, a sum of nbney therein specified.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
tives of the State 'of Louisiana in General Assembly con-
vened, That the Treasurer of the state of Louisiana bb
andhe is hereby authorised and requiredto pay to the Tru.-
tees of the Public Schools of the parish of Oiiachita, or
their order, the sum of twelve hundred dolars for tie
use of said schools; this being the balance due said schools
of Ouachita for the years ofouir Lord- 18211 1 s2'and 1823,
which amount has not been drawn by the Tiustees of said
schools, although the said schools werein opeiatioi during
the said period.

RESOLUTION.
WarEREAS, an individual, named William S. Brown, residing
on the plantation of General flampton, and entrusted, by
the Police Jury of the parish of Orleans, with the keep-
ing of the stray animals on said plantation, was lately as-
sassinated, in the presence of two huntsmen, one of whom
was a white man, and the other a free colored man,
whilst said Brown was going to order said huntsmen to
leave the grounds committed to his charge ; And whereas,
the sum of fifty dollars, already offered by the executive
authority for the discovery of the murderer, is totally in-
adequate;
Be it therefore resolved by the Senwe and House of Re-
presentatives of the State of Louisiana, in General Asscmblq
convened, That the Governor of this State be and lie is hereby
authorised and requested to oflfr a reward of Five Hundred
Dollars to any person who shall apprehend or cause to be
apprehended the aforesaid murderer.
