Baird and Wagner,. three hundred and fifty dollais on
account; to Mr. Thierry, three hundred and fifty
dollars on account.
SECT. 3. dnd be it further enacted, That it shil
Q. Terry. be the duty of the treasurer to pay to Mr. Terry, duly
elected member of the legislature of the territory of
Orleans for the parishes of St. Helena and St. Tam-
many, the said Mr. Terry having repaired to the
seat of government at the time fixed by law for the
purpose of acting in his legislative capacity previous
to his receiving the governor's proclamationt, his mi.
lage in full.
SECT. 4. And be it further enacted, That the

a warrant of the governor, out of such funds as shalt
not have been otherwise appropriated by law.

Sac'r. i. Be it enacted by the senate and house of
representatives of the state of Louisiana, in general
Antonio assem6ly convened, That Antonio M(,ndez he and
Mendes.    hereby is authorized to claim from the treasurer of
this state the reimbursement of the value of a negro
condemned to -death, and whose punishment was
commuted by the governor, with the approbation of
the senate to that of perpetual imprisonment at hard
labour, and that it shall be the duty of said treasurer
to pay to the. said Antonio Mendez, the sumn of four
hundred and ninety five dollars, the appraised value
of said negro to be paid on the warrant of the justices
-of the peace before whom said negro was condemned
to death, provided the said Antonio Mcndez do pass
deed of conveyance of said negro to the governor for
tme use of this state.
