CHAPTER XXII.
AN ACT
To suippress th delay granted to debtors by the
4th section of the act suppleinentary to the
acts fixing the powers and jurisdiction of the
justices of the peace and jbr other pmposes.
Sec. I Be t enacted by the L:giJative Council and
House of Repreisentatives of th- Territory of Orleansv in
general a.semnybly convened, That the part of the 4th section
of the act inti-led  an act supllementary to the acts
passed respecting the powers and juribd ction of the
jusices of the peace of the territory of Orleans, which
ex,!resses that  whenever a judgment shall be given
( ag:tinst anv person for any smu above twenty -five
 dollars.and not exceeding fifty, no execution bhall
 iszmic for three trmonth, from thc date of said judg.

 gives security ; and from fifty t:, one hundred dol.
 lar% the same stay of exCcution shall take place Lin-
 der ihe snie conditions for six months, be and the
same is hereby rcpealvd.
Sec. 2. And be .it firMer enacted, That three days
after a judgment shall have be-cn rendered b%' a justica
of the peace, he shall issue if thereto required, an or-
der of execution against the property of the person
cast in the suit; and if three days after the notifica-
tion of Lhe said order the debtor has not paid, the
said constable shall proceed to the seizure of his pro-
perty beginning by the moveables before seizing slaves
or real property ; and if the constable returns on the
