CHAPTER        XII.
AN ACT
To incorporate the Company of the Channel of Fausse Ri-
iere in the District of Point Couple.
Sect. 1. Be it enacted LU the Legislative Council and
House of Representatives of the Territory of Orleans in
gencral assembly convened, That the inhabitants of
Fausse Riviere in the District of Point Coupie, be and
they are hereby authorised to establish a company, under
the name of the Company of the  Channel of Fausse
Riviere, for the purpose of removing and carrying
away all the drift wood and other impediments which
obstruct the navigation of the channel, and to keep the
same in good order as much as the locality of the place
and the state of the water will permit.
Sect. 2. And be it further enacted, That the above
company be authorised to raise a capital of such sums as
they may deem necessary to defray the expenses of such
undertaking, that the total amount of the capital shall be
divided in shares of twenty dollars, and that all the inha-
bitants of Fausse Riviere who are all equkly interested,
may become stockholders, if they desire it, and that no
subscriber shall have the right to any greater number of
shares than any other subscriber, unless an adequate
sun cannot otherwise be obtained for the accomplish.

Sect. 3. And ,be it further enacted, That the said con.
pany shall be authorised to hold their meetings twice a
year or oftener, at the time and place which to them may
appear most convenient, and that the deliberations and
resolutions of the said company shall be taken by the
plurality of votes and by ballot, every share entitling its
owner to.one vote.
