AN ACT
ARturin the preaBke f the Superist Cort,
in cvil caues. .
Sec. r.    E it end4ed by the gowrnor of
Btbt territory of Orleans, by and.
with the advice and consent of Mbe legislative
su?: its t council, That all fuits in the fuperior court
onmenad ly thall be commenced by petition, addrefIed
hIion.   to the court, which fhall flate the names of
the parties, their places of refidence, and
the caufe of aaion, with the neceffary cir-
cumflances of places and dates, and fhall
conclude with a prayer for relief, adapted
to the circumflances of the cafe.   And
every fuch petition fhall be free from unne-
ceffary prolixity, and from any matter (can.
dalous, libellous, or impertinent, and fhall
be filed with the clerk, whofe duty it thill
be to endorfe- thereon the day on which the
fame is filed.
Sec. 2. And Ie it further ealed, That
