CHAPTER IV.
AN ACT
To regulate Sales at Aulion.
Sec. I.     E it enatecd by the Governor
.of the Territory Sf Orleans,
by . and -witb the cofient of the Legiatiwv
Council thereof, That no perfon whatfoever,
other than audioneers appointed and au.
thorifed by .the governor. under this a&, or
civil officers aaing - under the authority of
any court of the United States, or the gov.
ernment of this territory, (hall fell or expole
it public auion or vendue, within this
territory, any goods or chattels, lands or te.
nements; and that the governor thall ap.
point annually for the city and fuburbs of
New-Orleans three auttioneers, and as many
as he may deem neceffary for the other
parts of the territory.
Sec. 2. And be it further enaled, That
all lands, tenements, houfes, thips, veffels,
or faves, or any intereft therein, which
fhall, after the expiration of ten. days from
