thirty-ninth section o/' the Code ot' Georgia.
1. Six'tnoIN 1. Be it enlcteil, That the third clause of the seven
hundred alld thirty-nintli section ot the Code of' Georgia, be amen-      a
ded by insert ing the word 1 male between the words ( white
and   , persons; thereby making said clause read, ' every free
white male persoil between the ages of twenty-one and sixty,
twenty-five cents.

shall be   inlaw'ul for any church, society, or other body, or any
Persons, to grant any license or other authority to any slave or free
person of color to preach or exhort, or otherwise oiliciate in church
matters, be, and the same is hereby repealed.
IJ. Sr(. 11. And that the law in reference to licensing slaves and
free persons of color to Preach, existing before the adoption of the         
Code, is hreeby re-elicmetd.
Assented to April ISth, 1868.
