An Act to authorize .Jane iller, a fiee pcrson <' color, to sell herself
in:o Ia'rpetl sl  aeiriy.
1. SecrION 1. 1k it enicted. go., That Jane Miller, a free person
of color, in Clarke county be, and she is hereby authorized to vol-11,..
untarily become the slave of E. S. Sins for life.
2. Sc. 11. That in order to carry into effect the first section of
this Act, tho'said E. S, Sins and the said Jane Miller shall go be-
fore the J ustices of tho [nfirior Conrt, or a nujority of' them, inl
said comity, who shall laithfilly litn  fully examine her as to her
willingness to become the slave fOr life of said E. S. Sims; and
upon being satisfied of' the saine, they shall pass an order to the    a
offect that the said Jie Miller be held, deemed and considered
the slave of' the said E. S. Sims for and during her natural life,
s    -je;t to all the inCidenits of shivery, except the liability of beini
sold (1,u6ing the lifetimni e of' said Sims, by himselfor his creditors
for his debts ; lie sole conisilidiaratiol for which volunitary enslave-
ment on her part, shall be the obligation thereby incuirred by her
nmaster of, feedinug, clothing and protecting her.

Court to reiord.said order on the minute,17 of' the Court as evi-
